Storm Water Ordinance
The City of Fort Worth's storm water ordinance has been used as a model by other communities across the country, and is featured on the EPA's web page of model ordinances to protect local resources: www.epa.gov/owow/nps/ordinance/.
The ordinance prohibits illicit discharges to the municipal separate storm sewer system, provides for the regulation of mobile commercial cosmetic cleaning (also known as power washers), and regulates storm water discharges from industrial sources including construction activity. The storm water ordinance is found in Article III of the City's "Environment Code." Article III is available below in PDF format. Additionally, most enforcement provisions are found in Article I of the "Environment Code."
