Shake, Rattle and Read Story Time
A special story time series for lively children 2-5 years old. If you ever wanted to be loud in the library, this is the story time for you. Join us as we explore sounds, movements, stories, and rhymes in a fun and lively way.
Toddler Story Time
Introduce your toddler to the alphabet, numbers and other concepts while building social skills and learning about our world. This interactive story time will feature short stories, finger plays, action rhymes and songs. Bring your child and a blanket! Note: This program is specific to 12 - 24 month old toddlers. Please, no older siblings.
Worth Reading
Worth Reading (#wr365) aims to get everyone in Fort Worth reading, learning and having fun – all year long.
A partnership between the library, Fort Worth ISD and other community organizations, Worth Reading expands and enhances the traditional summer reading program, offering activities and programs at locations throughout the Metroplex.
The program is divided into four-month cycles, each with its own activities and prizes. The first cycle runs May 1 – Aug. 31, 2013.
Activities
All Aboard: Story Time for Children with Special Needs and their Families
Join us for a story time designed for children with special needs. Families and caregivers are encouraged to participate. Using interactive activities, art projects and open forums, this program helps children improve their academic and social skills. All books and crafts are at the preschool level.
Participation is not limited to children with special needs. Everyone is invited to join us for fun, learning and making new friends!

Family Movie Fun
Bring a blanket, your family and friends, and enjoy a free feature length movie in the Discovery Theatre at the Fort Worth Central Library Youth Center.
Game On! @ the Central Library
Join us in the Youth Center for Wii Gaming and board games. Sessions are a tournament-like atmosphere with small prizes for everyone. (Ages 6–12 and families)

Homeschooler's Activity Day
Come join us for multiple activities for a variety of age levels. Program and activities will vary each month – speakers, crafts, book discussion groups, games, etc.
Tail-Waggin’ Tutors: A Dog is a Reader's Best Friend
Is your child nervous about reading? Tail-Waggin' Tutors may the perfect answer. These dogs are specially trained by Therapy Dogs, International to listen patiently while a child practices reading and gains more confidence.
- 1 p.m., first Saturday of each month, Central Library, Youth Center Reading Pavilion.
